Officer shoots and kills suspect

A Colorado Springs Police Officer shot and killed a suspect this morning in the 1700 block of Auburn Drive in Colorado Springs.
Officers reported a man was in a backyard shooting at a house. The officer shot the man once. The suspect died after leaving the scene in an ambulance.
The officer's identity has not been released. That officer has been placed on administrative leave, as is standard in this kind of situation, pending an investigation.
The 1700 block of Auburn, which is near Constitution and Chelton, is closed, except to residents.
