The District Attorney's Office has ruled that the officer who shot and killed Dominic Oliver on February 28 was justified.

Oliver was barricaded inside a medical office at 75 Printers Parkway. Oliver had taken two hostages, but later released them. Unknown to Oliver, other hostages were hiding in the building. After about two and a half hours, officers received information that one of those people was in distress.

While trying to free that person, Oliver, according to the police investigation, reached for a gun and started to turn toward toward Officer Christopher Mace. Mace fire two shots that hit Oliver.

Colorado law allows an officer to use deadly force when it is necessary to defend himself or another person from deadly force.
