A judge in Colorado Springs is hearing evidence against Detra Farries, charged in the dragging death of tow-truck driver Allen Rose.
Police Detective Wayne Bichel described the scene, which spanned more than a mile and a half, the distance Rose was dragged after he became tangled in cables while trying to tow a car.
Officer Bichel said Rose was conscious and speaking after he broke loose from the cable. Bichel also testified three security cameras recorded Rose as he was dragged by.
A defense attorney asked if there were reports from witnesses that Rose put the cables on the SUV Farries was driving after the vehicle was started. Bichel answered yes. He was also asked if there was a report that Rose had tried to stomp on a cable as the SUV drove away and he also answered yes.
Today's proceeding is to determine if there is enough evidence to take Farries to trial.
