TODAY: We start the first morning of the new month with a bit of a breeze and a mix of clouds and sunshine. A weak front moving through eastern Colorado will bring us some breezy conditions. Winds will be from the north at 10-15 mph for the Springs and Pueblo. Gustier winds expected for La Junta and Lamar with some gusts of 20-30 mph. Due to the front, temps today will be about 6-8 degrees cooler than Sunday. As drier air moves-in this afternoon we'll expect much more sunshine and lighter winds.
TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear and that means we are in for a much chillier night. Low temps will fall to the mid 40's in the Springs and lower 40's in Pueblo.
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY: A big time warm-up is on the way starting tomorrow. Temps the 2nd and 3rd day of October may feel more like summer! Highs will be at least 10 degrees above average... right around 80 in the Springs and the mid 80's in Pueblo. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny each day...but a big change is on the way!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A fast moving cold front rolls into eastern Colorado and brings us some MUCH colder weather! Temps for almost all of us Wednesday night will be in the 30's and some spots could end up with a light frost by Thursday morning! Expect upslope clouds to form after the front passes...there could even be a very light rain or even light snow shower possible overnight. Best chance for a stray rain or snow shower will be over the higher elevations, foothills and Palmer Divide.
THURSDAY: How about high temps 25-30 degrees cooler than Wednesday! We'll start the day with the potential for frosty temps and low clouds. By afternoon it will very sunny with cooler high temps of 54 in Colorado Springs and 59 in Pueblo.
FRIDAY: More sunshine again to end the week and a nice recovery for our temps. 66 in the Springs and about 70 in Pueblo....just gorgeous.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Yet another cold front moves through our area and could mean an even more significant cool-down. We could see another round of some near freezing temps by the start of Saturday morning.
SATURDAY: Temps will only be in the lower to middle 50's for the lower elevations and some 40's for northern El Paso and Teller County...some of the coolest temps we have had in more than 5 months! Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies during the day and clear skies at night which means another possibility of our first frost.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and cold to start the day, the plenty of sun in the afternoon with high temps about 5-7 degrees warmer than Saturday.
Hope you have a great week!
