In some cities, occupy protests cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

In Los Angeles, the price tag has nearly doubled to $5 million.

City officials say they underestimated the need for police overtime and the clean up of parks.

A two-month camp in Los Angeles closed in late November.

In New York City, the cost of occupy protests had reportedly reached $17 million through mid-March.

In Denver, the city spent about $430,000, and that doesn't include all the staffing costs.
