Call it hardcore support for military families.
A custom-designed motorcycle, built by Hardcore Choppers of Sterling, Va., and signed by President Barack Obama will be auctioned in Las Vegas to support military families.
The United States Army Chopper bearing Obama's autograph, along with those of Vice President Joe Biden and national security adviser James Jones, will be auctioned to benefit the Fisher House Foundation. The foundation builds houses around the country and donates them to the government to provide free housing to military families who have someone being treated at a military or Veterans Affairs hospital. There are 49 Fisher Houses now.
The motorcycle was designed to recall 1950s European race cars. It features a six-speed transmission and a 150-horsepower engine. Auctioneer Barrett-Jackson has waived its transaction fee.
