President Barack Obama says health care reform will help address one of the nation's biggest challenges: the continuing loss of jobs.
In his weekly radio and Internet video address, Obama says passage of his health care proposals would create new jobs by making small business startups more affordable. He argues that aspiring entrepreneurs will be encouraged to start new businesses, if the believe they can stay insured while switching jobs.
Obama also praises the Senate Finance Committee for crafting a health care bill that includes many of his priorities. He highlights a provision that would allow small businesses to buy health insurance through an exchange, "where they can compare the price, quality and services of a wide variety of plans."
Obama is acknowledging that a health care bill is far from final passage in the Democratic-controlled Congress.
