President Obama is asking the nation's governors to work with him to create jobs and help the middle class.
His top priorities are more job training, higher wages, new investments in roads and bridges,
Increased access to education and improving the healthcare overhaul.
Following Monday's meeting with the president, governors were mostly upbeat.
"For every place there is disagreement there are ten places where we said that we can work on," said Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.
Republican governors, meanwhile, called on the president to reduce federal regulations and further delay parts of Obamacare.
"This administration must recognize that one size fits all won't work in the United States," argued Texas Governor Rick Perry.
