The number of cancer survivors we'll have in the U.S. by 2022 will top 18 million.
That's according to a new report from the American Association for Cancer Research that tracks trends in cancer survival rates.
It's an increase of 31% from last year when there were over 13 million Americans with a history of cancer.
Experts say the bump will mostly be due to the aging population, projecting that two-thirds of survivors will be over the age of 65.
Breast cancer accounts for 22-percent of survivors while lung cancer makes up only three percent of the total.
