DENVER (AP) - The Denver Nuggets have hired Melvin Hunt as an assistant coach.
Hunt, 40, was an assistant with the Cleveland Cavaliers form 2005-10. Before that, he spent a season on the Los Angeles Lakers' staff (2004-05) and five seasons with the Houston Rockets (1999-2004), where he served as a scout and assistant coach.
Hunt, who played professionally in the Caribbean and Mexico after winning four letters at Baylor from 1987-91, began his coaching career as an assistant at Temple (Texas) High School and also served as an assistant at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
