It turns out the scratch ticket a Colorado Springs woman lost, then found again and tried to cash in wasn't a big prize winner. Laurice Pillar only won $3 on her crossword puzzle scratch game.
Pillar said she was confused about how to play the game and didn't realize it was a winner. She'd misplaced the ticket for about a year but found it again a couple of weeks ago and thought she'd won the grand prize. Then when she went to claim the prize she was told the ticket has expired.
After investigating her ticket, officials with the Colorado Lottery confirmed that the ticket was not big prize winner after all. All lotto games have 180 day redemption period inwhich to claim a prize. Pillar's ticket expired in December.
