NORAD scrambles fighter jets

NORAD scrambled two F-16 fighter jets at 12:19 p.m. this afternoon Colorado time.
The fighters intercepted a Cessna 182 in the vicinity of the National Capitol Region. The plane was escorted to Manassas, Virginia where the plane landed and was met by local law enforcement.
NORAD is based at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
