What a gorgeous afternoon we had for Tuesday! The sun was out, the temperatures were warm, and the weather was cooperating! If you have some nice photos of the weather, please send them my way. We need a few 'spring-summer' photos for our gallery. And they may be features on-air! You can send them to me via email, Facebook or Twitter accounts.
With all of the sunshine this afternoon, many of us will be able to climb into the 80s for highs. This is something that hasn't happened in over a week in most spots, two weeks for others. So with it unofficially being summer, it starts to feel like it for today. The only small glitch is that higher elevations could see a stray shower.
Wednesday's forecast is just like Tuesday's: mostly sunny, dry and warm. Then on Thursday, at least a slight chance for showers will be added, but nothing widespread. The main rain system will come for Friday. This is when we could see widespread showers and/or thunderstorms in the area. And of course anytime we have some clouds and showers around, temperatures cool slightly. So for Friday and Saturday, you can expect temperatures to back off a few degrees.
But it looks like the showers won't be long lived. By Sunday we clear things out again and the temperatures pop right back up into the 80s.
Enjoy the sun... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
