New York police officer accidently killed by friendly fire

MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities in New York say a police officer was fatally shot by another officer after a confrontation with a knife-wielding man inside a home in a New York City suburb.

The suspect also was killed in the incident yesterday in Massapequa Park, nearly 40 miles east of Manhattan.
