New wind farm planned in eastern Colorado

An Xcel Energy Inc. company has agreed to buy power from a new wind farm in eastern Colorado that will bring up to 200 construction jobs.
Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. based in Broomfield announced Wednesday that it will begin construction on Cedar Point Wind farm in Lincoln and Elbert counties by the middle of the year.
The wind farm announced a 20-year deal to sell power to the Public Service Company of Colorado, part of Xcel Energy Inc.
The company says Cedar Point will employ up to 200 people during construction and about 12 people after the wind farm is complete.
The project includes building a 42-mile transmission line across Arapahoe County.
