People who suffer from migraines may also be at risk for a heart attack.

A new study finds that while the overall heart risk for migraine patients was quite small -- they were twice as likely to have a heart attack than those with no migraines.

The heart attack risk was nearly three times greater for those who have migraines with aura -- when the patient sees flashing lights or other visual disturbances just before the headache hits.

Migraine patients are also at higher risk for diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

To schedule an appointment for an MRI showing your heart risk, phone Park West Imaging for at (719) 595-7600.
