New requirement for Driver's Licenses

A new requirement for Colorado State Driver's Licenses goes into effect Monday.
People will be required to show proof of their address in order to obtain a new Driver's License, renew a license, or transfer an out-of-state license to Colorado.
One acceptable form of documentation proving the applicant's residential address must be presented. The documents that may be used to establish residency are shown below.
- Credit card statement
- Pay stub or earnings statement
- Rent receipt
- Phone bill
- Transcript or report card from an accredited school
- Bank statement
- Mortgage document
- Tax document
- Homeowner's/renter's insurance policy
- Vehicle registration
Only one is needed, but the document must show the applicant's current address.
