Colorado's newest state senator has taken the oath of office. Sen. Angela Giron, a Democrat, was sworn in Thursday.
She replaces Sen. Abel Tapia, a Democrat from Pueblo who stepped down because he was term-limited and wanted to make way for his successor.
Giron previously worked in the offices of both senators Ken Salazar and Michael Bennett.
