New Mexico medical investigators are trying to identify remains at an Albuquerque business whose owner was arrested on fraud charges.

The charges against Paul Montano came after seven heads, a torso and several limbs were found at a Kansas medical waste company and traced back to Bio Care, an Albuquerque company that handles body donations for medical research.

Authorities say some of the body parts found in Kansas were identified as those of people whose cremated remains had been returned to their families. Amy Boule, a spokeswoman for the state Office of the Medical Investigator, said Tuesday state officials are working to identify other remains found at Bio Care.
