BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - New Colorado coach Jon Embree has named five assistants, most of whom have ties to Colorado or to the Buffaloes.

The assistants, named Friday, include Greg Brown as defensive coordinator. The 53-year-old Brown worked for former Colorado coaches Bill McCartney and Dawn Hawkins.

New offensive line coach Steve Marshall was on the Colorado staff in 2000 and 2001. He has coached the past two seasons at California.

Other assistants are: Kanavis McGhee, defensive line coach, a 1995 Colorado graduate; J.D. Brookhart, offensive passing game coordinator, a Colorado State graduate who started his coaching career with former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan; and Mike Tuiasosopo, defensive line coach, who has spent the last seven seasons at Arizona.
