Denver attorney Judd Choate will take over as Colorado's new elections director the first week of October.
Secretary of State Bernie Buescher announced Monday that Choate will join his staff. Choate is an attorney at the law firm of Kelly Garnsey Hubbell and Lass, where he specializes in election law and commercial litigation.
Choate received his master's and doctorate degrees from Purdue University and his law degree from the University of Colorado. He was a law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court and a legal intern for Judge Timothy Tymkovich of the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and Judges Jolene Blair and Terrence Gilmore, both of the Colorado's 8th District Court.
