Neighbors upset over burned home in Pueblo

Neighbors in the ten hundred block of W. 13th Street in Pueblo are angry over a burned out house that's still standing nearly six months after it caught fire.

"It's stressful because there's lots of people breaking in constantly," said Jeremy Bravo, a neighbor. "The smell. There's always ash in my yard. Everything just seems to be kind of inconvenient."

They say they see the owners over there about once a month, and they've talked to several different people including insurance and the city to see whose responsibility it is to clean it up.

They're trying to move, but no one will buy their home because it's right beside the burned one.

Many people they talk to tell them it's the owner's responsibility, so they hope to get this message out.

"Do what you can," said Bravo. "If you can. If there's anything you can do to get the house rebuilt, or demolished, or just not to look like this."

We do know who owns the property.

What we don't know at this time is if they had enough insurance to cover the fire, and ultimately who is responsible for the cleanup.

We talked with the Pueblo Assessor's Office, and they say they didn't know the home had burned.

They did go out today to reassess the home.
