NCHC suspends Colorado College’s Hanson one game

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) has issued a one-game suspension for Colorado College sophomore forward Jared Hanson, in accordance with the conference's supplemental discipline policy, the NCHC announced Tuesday. The suspension stems from an illegal hit during the Tigers' game against Miami this past Saturday, Jan. 25.

Action was taken by the conference after a review of the play in which Hanson hit a Miami player from behind after the whistle at 16:34 of the second period. Hanson was assessed a five-minute checking from behind major and a game misconduct penalty on the play.

Hanson will be required to serve the suspension during Colorado College's next game at Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 7. He is eligible to return to competition in the series finale with UMD Feb. 8.
