Navy League Ball planned in Colorado Springs

The 235th birthday of the United States Navy will be celebrated in Colorado Springs with the 2010 Colorado Springs Navy Ball.

ADM James Winnefeld, Jr., Commander of NORAD-U.S. NORTHCOM will be the principal speaker.

The theme for the Ball is "America's Navy: A Global Force for Good."

More than 600 people are expected to attend the gala at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Colorado Springs, October 1. Social hour at 6:00 pm, followed by dinner and a program at 7:00 pm.

The U.S. Naval Academy/U.S. Air Force Academy football game is the next day, Saturday, October 2nd. Academy midshipmen are expected to be in attendance, along with representatives of all other military services.

Following the program, you'll have the opportunity to do your best "Dancing With the Stars" immitation. The band, Gentle Rain, will perform.
