Update: Natural gas leak affecting afternoon bus routes

Update 4:12 p.m. Work crews are still on the scene, but the road has reopened.
A natural gas leak in the Monument area will affect the way some kids get home from school this afternoon. The gas leak is near Furrow and Archer roads in Monument.
The Lewis Palmer School District says the gas leak area is blocking bus access in South Arrowood, Forest Heights and possibly part of the Bent Tree Area. D-38 says buses will be re-routed as possible to make sure all students get home. Those high school and middle school students who can't be bused home because of the leak will be kept on buses and taken to Lewis Palmer Elementary School where they can be picked up.
