About 25 people protested an annual Columbus Day rally in Pueblo this morning. The protesters show up each year, waving signs and chanting anti-Christopher Columbus remarks.

The protesters are upset because they say Columbus brought slavery and genocide to their people. Their goal is to have the federal holiday abolished.

About 150 showed up to celebrate the holiday. Columbus Day celebrates the Italian explorer's trek to America in 1492.
