The award says it all. Saturday night at the U.S. Air Force Academy Pueblo's Hoy Frakes received a lifetime achievement award from the Colorado Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

No doubt Frakes has spent a lifetime in wrestling, most notably as the wrestling coach at Pueblo Centennial high school from 1961-1964. He also coached at Adams State from 1957-1960 and prior to that was a four-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion at Colorado State College in Greeley, which is now the University of Northern Colorado.

Frakes record at Centennial was 110-73-2 where he coached three state champs.

Frakes has received numerous awards and accolades over the years. The former Bulldogs' coach told News First 5 Sports Director Lee Douglas this is "the best" honor he's ever received.

Frakes said, "Getting this honor really made me review a lot and a lot of people's names came back and memories. I've got a story about every one of my wrestlers I think who wrestled for me."
