A robbery suspect crashed a stolen vehicle on Pikes Peak Ave near Academy Blvd after taking several law enforcement agencies on a wild chase all morning. Police now have the suspect in custody but continue to search for his passenger.

It started around four this morning at the Carl's Jr restaurant on S. Chelton Road when the suspect pulled up to the drive-thru window. He allegedly pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money. After receiving cash, the suspect left the area in a Yellow Cab van that had been stolen during a carjacking Wednesday night.

30 minutes later the cab was spotted by Colorado Springs Police Officers on E. Fountain Ave. They attempted to pull the vehicle over but the cab then took off leading officers into a pursuit that had to be terminated due to the high speeds and erratic driving of the suspect.

A few minutes later, the vehicle was spotted at Platte and Wooten and once again took off.

A few hours later a green Chevy SUV was reported stolen in the Black Forest area where the Yellow Cab had been dumped. El Paso County Sheriff's deputies spotted the stolen SUV and again had to call off pursuit when the suspect reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour.

The SUV was equipped with "On-Star" but the vehicle is not a new vehicle, so "On-Star" could not shut the vehicle down, but helped track the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a male in his twenties, medium build, blonde hair. His passenger was a black female.
