TODAY: Much warmer weather on-tap today with high temps at least 20 degrees warmer than Tuesday! 59 in Colorado Springs and 64 in Pueblo! We start the day with some wave clouds along the Front Range and mild temps. Those clouds dissipate by late morning and early afternoon leaving us with mostly sunny skies this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear overnight with temps that should be a little bit milder compared to our low temps this morning. 31 in the Springs...Pueblo 28...34 in Canon City and mid twenties in Teller County.
THURSDAY: Very warm weather expected with mostly sunny skies. 64 for the Springs, upper 60's for Ft. Carson and Canon City and lower 70's from Pueblo, La Junta and Lamar! A new Pacific storm system will continue to develop to our west and slowly track inland toward colorful Colorado.
FRIDAY: Dry skies, mild temps and quiet conditions expected to start the day, but that next storm spreads snow into the mountains and more clouds and cooler temps across our area later in the day. Rain and snow showers will increase across western Colorado during the day. By afternoon and evening we'll start to see a chance of rain and snow showers in eastern Colorado. Chances for snow showers will highest across the mountains close to home...including Teller County, the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. At least a 30-40% chance for showers in Colorado Springs, north to Monument. Canon City will have a 30% chance about 20% for Pueblo. Good news for skiers and boarders with a good shot of snow starting during the day Friday. WINTER STORM WATCHES are posted for the central, west and southwestern mountains of Colorado starting Friday morning and lasting through Saturday evening. 8-16" of snow will be possible around Crested Butte and Snowmass...while 1-2" of snow will be possible for places like Telluride, Durango Mtn, Wolf Creek and Monarch Mtn.
SATURDAY: Much cooler and snow and rain showers expected! Temps will only reach 39 in Colorado Springs and the mid to upper 40's for Canon City and Pueblo. Given that fact that we'll have such very warmer weather today through Friday we expect snow that falls Friday night and Saturday to melt at first before it starts sticking. Temps will also warm on Saturday to above freezing which is why we'll see a rain/snow mix during the day.
SUNDAY: Depending on how fast that Pacific storm leaves the region we could see a few light snow showers still falling across eastern Colorado in the morning. By later in the afternoon it should be mostly sunny to partly cloudy and chilly. High temps will only reach 37 in the Springs and lower to mid 40's for Canon, Pueblo and La Junta.
MONDAY-TUESDAY:: Expect skies to be mostly sunny both days and temps to warm nicely in comparison to our colder weekend forecast. Afternoon temps on Monday will reach the upper 40's in the Springs and mid 50's in Pueblo. Tuesday's high temps will be another 5-6 degrees warmer. Winds both days should be fairly light and skies will be dry.
