Motorist detained at Fort Carson

Fort Carson security workers reported a vehicle attempted to get into the base through an entrance near Butts Field Monday afternoon without stopping at the checkpoint.
Workers were able to stop the vehicle later and apprehend the driver. As a precaution they closed all the gates into Fort Carson. Once the driver was detained the gates were opened again. That took about 20 minutes.
Fort Carson reminds visitors that all vehicles entering the post are subject to inspection and a valid form of identification is required.
