Investigators from the Major Accident Unit of the Colorado Springs Police Department are piecing together clues surrounding an accident near the intersection of N. Chelton and Palmer Park at 6:30 am Friday. The accident involved a motorcycle with a rider and passenger that hit a fire hydrant.
The rider in control of the motorcycle reportedly fled the scene leaving his passenger injured at the scene. When officers arrived they found a female lying on the ground crying with unspecified injuries. Patrol officers searched the area for the runaway driver as investigators from the Major Accident Unit handles the scene investigation.
News 5 has called to follow up on the accident with the Colorado Springs Police, Sand Creek Division and we are told that a report will be released once the investigation is concluded.
No arrests have been reported and no updates on names of the victim and suspect are available at this time.
