Mother Teresa and actress Katherine Hepburn are among those who will be honored on postage stamps in the new year.

The 2010 stamp program will also include singing cowboy Gene Autry, Pulitzer Prize winner Bill Mauldin, artist Winslow Homer and Adm. Arleigh Burke.

The Negro baseball leagues and the Hawaiian rain forest will get their own stamps as well in the Post Office's annual commemorative series.

Archie, Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes, and other Sunday funnies favorites will make the leap from newsprint to stamp form.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games will be marked with a stamp featuring an illustration of a snowboarder.

And next month, the Year of the Tiger will be marked with a stamp in the lunar new year series. The new year begins in February.
