Morning standoff ends without injury

A police standoff, lasting more than five hours, ended peacefully in Colorado Springs Sunday morning.

Just after midnight, Springs Police were called to an apartment on LaSalle St. where they say, 23 year old Michael Hirsch, had pointed a handgun at several friends and his wife.

Police ordered everyone out, but Hirsch, his wife and a 5 month old daughter remained inside.

Several attempts were made to contact Hirsch, including the use of a flash bang device. Eventually the tactical enforcement unit forced entry to the apartment with a search warrant.

Hirsch was arrested on felony menacing domestic violence charges after 5 a.m. There were no injuries were in the process.
