More than 300 soldiers back at Fort Carson

More than 300 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division are back on American soil after spending a year in Afghanistan.

Friends, family, and colleagues welcomed them home at a ceremony at the Special Events Center on post Sunday afternoon.

While in Afghanistan, they helped the Afghanistan national army with security and peace-keeping operations in the Kunar province. They also conducted training academies for Afghanistan national police, helped strengthen health care in the Hutal village, and did police assessments to ensure safe elections in the Nangarhar province.

The 4th BCT, 4th ID have been returning home over the past month, with more homecomings to come in the next few weeks.
