TODAY: Much colder temps and by later in the day we'll see more rain and snow showers! High temps will only reach 37 degrees in Colorado Springs and 43 in Pueblo. Wind chill values during the day will make it feel even colder. There will be good chance of light rain or snow during the early afternoon around the Pikes Peak region...including Teller and northern El Paso County. Chances for snow go ‘way' up by late afternoon and evening. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES begin at 6 PM today for northern El Paso County (Monument/USAFA/Calhan) and Teller County (Woodland Park/Cripple Creek/Divide) and the Rampart Range. We are expecting accumulations of about 4-8" in these areas. Because of the much colder air, we will see some snow by late evening & overnight for the lower elevations....including: Colorado Springs, Pueblo and the rest of eastern Colorado. Accumulations in places like Colorado Springs could be as much as 2- 4" of snow. Places like Pueblo, Pueblo West and Canon City could see as much as 1-2" on the grassy surfaces. Only light snow or rain possible if you live in Walsenburg, Trinidad, La Junta and Lamar.
TONIGHT: Snow showers expected overnight and into your Friday. The coldest air of the season will settle in tonight with lows in Colorado Springs in the upper teens and in the low 20s in Pueblo. We'll be watching for some areas of fog to form in spots overnight as well, including around the AF Academy, Monument and the Pueblo Reservoir.
FRIDAY: We start the day with areas of snow shower activity and very cold temps. The morning commute is expected to be snowy and icy on Interstate 25 north of the Springs over Monument Hill and into Denver...and west into Teller County. Snow showers will taper-off late morning and the afternoon. Skies will become partly cloudy with temperatures only reaching into the 30s! The high in Colorado Springs will be 33 and Pueblo will top out at 38.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Clearing skies will set us up for a VERY cold night Friday with lows expected to bottom-out in the teens. Overnight lows in the Springs will be in the upper teens and Pueblo in the low teens.
SATURDAY: Cold and clear in the morning...but by afternoon our high temps will warm-up to 49 in Colorado Springs and 52 in Pueblo with mostly sunny skies. Still very cold overnight with lows in the mid to low 20s.
SUNDAY-WEDNESDAY: We end the weekend and start the new week with abundant sunshine and milder temps. Max temps will reach 51 in Colorado Springs and 55 in Pueblo. Monday and Tuesday...plenty of sunshine and a little bit of a warming trend. Temps will be in the lower 60's in the Springs and mid to upper 60's in Pueblo. Milder overnight lows however just above freezing in Colorado Springs and near or below in Pueblo.
