Rain this past weekend helped firefighters as they battled the fires in Black Forest and Royal Gorge. More rain is the forecast this afternoon, but similarly to the weekend the showers and thunderstorms will be scattered and some areas will miss out. High temperatures will be in the 80's in most areas, though some warmer locations will heat into the 90's. If the rain starts a little earlier than yesterday, temperatures could be cooler than our forecast this afternoon.
More rain is in Tuesday's forecast, and temperatures could be cooler with 70's and 80's across the area.
Wednesday marks the start of a dry period that will persist into the weekend. The wind will pick up again, and temperatures will warm. That could bring about an increasing fire threat for Southern Colorado toward the end of the week.
