LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - Loveland police are stepping up patrols in major shopping districts to deter thefts and shoplifting during the holiday season.
Shopkeepers are welcoming the increased police presence through Christmas. Promenade Shops business owner Marci Lautzenheiser says thieves will think twice before committing crimes.
According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, the department recorded 19 incidents of theft or shoplifting in shopping districts in 2010, up from 14 the year before.
