More hot weather Sunday won't help fire fighters!

Forecast for Sunday is for more VERY hot, dry weather. Temps will be about 15-20 degrees hotter than average. Saturday we tied the record high in Colorado Springs at 100 degrees!  At the century mark, it was one of only about 5 or 6 times the Springs has ever hit 100 degrees since weather data has been kept in the Springs. Pueblo had a record of 106...Denver a record high of 104! There might be one or two thundershowers over the mountains and foothills. Fingers crossed that it happens near the Waldo Canyon Fire!

Excessive heat Sunday will mean another day of excessive fire danger and another day of extremely difficult conditions to try and control the Waldo Canyon Fire. Winds Sunday will variable during the day and a little lighter compared to Saturday. We expect gustier winds on Monday from the south at 10-20 mph with some gusts above 30 mph.

Temps will stay VERY hot on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Slightly cooler by Thursday and Friday. Minimal chances of thundershowers during that next 7 days.
