TODAY: A touch cooler today with more clouds and a better chance for storms. You'll notice more clouds around to start and finish the day. The increased moisture will be the fuel for more showers and thunderstorms today. Those clouds are also good news because of the lack of direct sunlight; it should not feel quite as warm as what the thermometer reads. Highs in Pueblo will reach 97 degrees and Colorado Springs should see temps around 90 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms can be expected in the afternoon/evening with the chance of storms at 30% in Colorado Springs and a 20% chance for Pueblo. Best chances for moisture will be over Monument Hill and Teller County at 40%.
TONIGHT: The skies will clear quickly tonight...as a result the temperatures will drop lower than this morning's readings. Colorado Springs can expect lows near 60 degrees, and Pueblo can expect similar temps around 62 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Drier air returns for tomorrow, so expect it to be mostly sunny for both Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Highs in Colorado Springs are predicted to be in the upper 80's and the mid 90's in Pueblo. Skies will be dry at the lower AND higher elevations close to home.
THURSDAY: A hotter summer day expected. It will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 90's for Colorado Springs and about 101 for Pueblo! There should be enough moisture around for one or two storms over the mountains and maybe one as well around Colorado Springs. Pueblo and areas to the east will just be hot and dry.
FRIDAY: Hot temps and mostly dry skies again in the forecast to end the week. A couple of storms over the mountains again. Colorado Springs and Pueblo will be dry and toasty with high temps about 8-10 degrees hotter than average.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY: We will get ‘a little bit' of relief from the heat heading into the weekend as a weak cool front moves through eastern Colorado. Temps by Sunday should be about 4-6 degrees cooler than Friday. Better chances of storms in the mountains and a slightly better chance of an afternoon thundershowers for the lower elevations. 20% chance for Colorado Springs. Chances in Pueblo at about 20% on Saturday and 10-20% late on Sunday.
