Pet owners are being urged to vaccinate their pets against rabies--after several skunks tested positive for the disease in Pueblo County this year. Two of the three skunks were found on Pueblo's east side.
Health experts says it's important for the public to be aware about this issue, because rabies is a fatal disease. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, rabies infects the central nervous system and ultimately causes disease in the brain and death.
