The body of Genesis Sims was found in a crawlspace of a Monument home back in May. Her father, Hanif Sims, and his girlfriend, Monique Lynch, appeared in court today.

They're suspects in her death.

Thursday each of the suspects were in court for a review hearing.

Court officials were setting the parameters for the upcoming trials -- like media access and use of witnesses during the trial among other issues.

Sims was represented by his attorney, Matthew Werner, and Lynch by a public defender.

They worked through the list of motions from the attorneys, agreeing on many of the issues to handle them on a case-by-case basis as they arise.

The next appearance for Sims and Lynch in court is October 29th at 9 a.m. for their preliminary hearings.
