Wednesday's snowy weather has plenty of people humming Christmas carols. Monument will launch into full-blown Christmas mode this Friday with the lighting of the Christmas tree in Limbach Park. The event gets underway at 4:30 pm.

Limbach Park is also the place to be Saturday morning when Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children between 10 am and noon. If it's too cold for your little ones noses the Clauses will move into the Chapala building. Santa's reindeer will be at Front Street Square throughout the day.

Historic downtown Monument will be humming with activity throughout the day. After your wee ones deliver their Christmas wish lists to Santa--take a hay ride. Hop in the wagon at the Gallery Center. Visit donkeys at Monumental Toys and Miniatures.

Children can make free ornaments at Toys 4 Fun and 2-Watts Creative.

Let your kids creativity soar even higher with free Christmas cookie decorating at High Country Home & Garden.

Chubby little cheeks will be even cuter with Rudolph painted on them--free face painting at Expectations Spa and Salon.

Visit Santa's Holiday Corner at Hangers where kids 8 and under can pick one free gift for a family member.

Merchants throughout the Historic District are offering handmade gifts, hot cider, hot buttered rum and plenty of deals.
