Missy Franklin, the Colorado teenage swimmer who earned 5 medals and rocketed to stardom at last month's Summer Olympics in London, has been named an honorary team captain by the Denver Broncos for their season opener Sunday night in Denver. The team made the announcement on its Twitter account Monday afternoon. Franklin will participate in the pregame coin toss.
Franklin is among 12 Colorado Olympic athletes being honored by the Broncos during Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game will air live on News 5 starting at 6:00 Sunday night.
