THORNTON, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected in the deaths of his estranged wife and his mother-in-law is believed to be in the northern Denver suburb of Thornton, and a SWAT team is on the scene.
Authorities say shots were reportedly fired Friday in an apartment where 37-year-old Cimmeron Johns is thought to be.
A SWAT team is on the scene. Other residents have been evacuated.
The Weld County Sheriff's Department says Johns is the primary suspect in the disappearance and deaths of his wife, 36-year-old Alisha Johns, and her 56-year-old mother, Sherri Pachello.
The sheriff's department confirmed that two bodies found in Weld County Friday were the missing women.
Investigators believe they were kidnapped Thursday after Alisha Johns went to visit her husband and her mother went to pick her up.
