Minn. Duluth beats Colorado College 5-2 in WCHA

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Justin Fontaine had two goals and Mike Connolly had a goal and two assists as Minnesota-Duluth defeated third-ranked Colorado College 5-2 Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Fontaine, who leads the nation in power-play goals, had two on Friday to up his season total to 11 for the 13th-ranked Bulldogs (13-7-1, 9-5-1 WCHA). He has 15 goals on the season.

UMD responded with four straight goals after Stephan Schultz opened the scoring for Colorado College (12-6-3, 8-4-3) midway through the first period. Kyle Schmidt, Drew Akins, Connolly and
Fontaine scored to give the Bulldogs a 4-1 after two periods.

Bill Sweatt and Fontaine added third-period goals.

Kenny Reiter made 17 saves for the Bulldogs, while Tyler O'Brien and Joe Howe combined for 22 saves for the Tigers.
