TODAY: Much more sunshine and warmer today compared to Sunday. High temps later today reach 52 in Colorado Springs and 55 in Pueblo. Canon City will be one of the states warm spots at 57 degrees. Later today a weak wave of energy moves from the northwest to the southeast across the state. The only thing you might notice is an increase a few high clouds.
TONIGHT: Skies clear overnight and temps cool to 26 in the Springs and 22 in Pueblo.
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY: Dry skies, plenty of sunshine and very mild for both days. Temps make it to the middle 50's for Colorado Springs and near 60 for Pueblo, Canon City and the lower Arkansas River Valley. A weak wave energy moving through the mountains ‘could' bring a stray snow shower across the higher elevations...including around the Rampart Range/Teller County. Chances as of now are only 10-20%.
THURSDAY: As that weak storm system moves out of the state we'll expect slightly cooler air to slide into eastern Colorado. High temps for all of us drop about 8-10 degrees compared to the warmer temps to start the week. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.
FRIDAY: A brief warning trend for the News 5 viewing area this day with mostly sunny skies before the next, bigger Pacific storm takes aim at the state. Snow wills start flying in the mountains during the day as the system pumps moisture across the higher elevations across the Continental Divide. Dry for us locally and about 5-6 degrees warmer than Thursday.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Unsettled weather possible for the weekend! A cold front will slide down the Front Range during the day...so high temps only reach the lower to middle 40's. The storm bringing snow the mountains moves through the region from the southwest and could be enough to bring us a few snow showers by late Saturday and on in to Sunday. Chances for precip during that time are only about 20% for most of us at the lower elevations, but about 30 to maybe 40% over the Rampart Range....Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Sunday starts with that chance for some snow and will be by-far the coldest day of the next 7. 30's for highs in the Springs/Pueblo and Canon City. 20's in Teller County. Gusty winds during the day means that the wind chill will make it feel even colder.
