Mild today, cooler for the workweek

Expect a beautiful day today with plenty of sunshine overhead plus mild temperatures. Highs this afternoon look to be about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

A storm system will affect parts of the state for the first half of the workweek. The central mountains will see the best chance of precipitation (rain/snow) from this storm. Impacts will be minor for us here in Southern Colorado. Highs will be cooler (50s/60s) across the region as the storm moves to the north and east of us Tuesday into Wednesday. A few isolated rain showers are possible across the lower elevations as well though Teller County and the Palmer Divide may see a little snow Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

In the wake of the storm, Halloween looks dry and comfortable with highs in the 50s/60s. Expect evening trick-or-treat temperatures to be in the 40s/50s. The dry weather will continue into next weekend as temperatures warm to near or above average readings.
