Congrats to Morris Gilbert of Mesa Ridge High School.
The 17-year old senior plays linebacker for the Grizzlies football team. Mesa Ridge Coach Rob Braaten says Morris is a glue guy for his team. He does a little of everything to help the Grizzlies win.
Mesa Ridge is certainly winning more than ever before. The Grizzlies are in the 4A Final Four for the first time in school history. They're coming off a dramatic upset win against two-seed Ponderosa in the 4A Quarterfinals.
"Last week, how we won, it was surreal," said Morris. "It took me a couple of days to grasp how we won in the fashion that we did. Right now, we're just preparing to get revenge against Denver South in our week one loss."
Ten-seed Mesa Ridge will play host to three-seed Denver South Saturday at one. Denver South beat Mesa Ridge in a close game early in the season. The winner of that game will play in the state championship game the following Saturday.
