Mesa County judge asked to rule on boys' remains

GRAND JUNCTION (AP) - A Mesa County judge is being asked to rule in a dispute over the remains of two children who died after they were left alone in an SUV.

The boys' grandmother, Diane Mathena, wants Tyler and William Jensen buried next to their father in Palisade, while the mother has indicated she wants them cremated. Mathena filed a petition in Mesa County court on Wednesday asking a judge to decide who has the right to decide.

The mother, Heather Jensen, has not responded to requests for comment.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( http://tinyurl.com/bnhf7mu), 4-year-old Tyler and 2-year-old William were found unconscious after their mother left them alone in her SUV more than a week ago and they later died.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
