A public memorial will be held for a Colorado prison worker killed in an assault involving an inmate while breakfast was being prepared at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility.
The memorial is scheduled at 10 a.m. at Crowley County High School in Ordway.
Sgt. Mary Ricard died last week during an assault. Sgt. Lori Gann was seriously injured in the incident.
Miguel Alonso Contreras-Perez, who was serving 35 years to life for kidnapping and sexual assault for a crime in Colorado Springs, has been named a person of interest in Ricard's death.
